On Monday, Carmel City Council voted 7-1 to ban the sale of cats + dogs at pet stores in the city. The ordinance is meant to curb the sale of animals from mills, while allowing stores to continue partnering with shelters and rescues to show adoptable animals. 🐾 (IndyStar)

The state Department of Revenue announced Hoosiers will pay 61 cents per gallon in taxes on gas — another jump from June’s record high of 56 cents per gallon. The state’s average price per gallon was $5.13 on Monday, while the national average was at ~$4.98. ⛽ (WRTV)

Thirsty for a taste of something new in Indy? Blue Mind Coffee Roasters is planning to open its new storefront in the Rose Building — which has been around since at least 1941 — on 38th Street between Broadway Street and College Avenue.
The family-owned business has been operating out of their backyard since 2015, when Blue Mind was founded. Now, it’s looking forward to opening its new place “in the coming months.” |
